| Eighteen Years (lyrics) by Gloria Lee | |
Eighteen years They say, "It's okay Cus you have the rest of your life to find him." But I didn't care I knew that I'd be fine Just being by myself for now Cus I knew he'd come to me But I was afraid of how long it would be Nothing new came to me I was losing inside my mind, no words to say No inspiration for what was happy Everything was gray No love or hearts engraved into the walls within my heart And then you came You turned my life around Everything you do And everything you say It comes so naturally And everything you are I couldn't come to believe that you are you. I relate to this a lot--I waited 18 years too! I don't regret it a bit either :)

People seem as if they like to rush getting into relationships. My classmates in middle school were like that, and I even have a friend who sort of did in 4th grade (an intense infatuation, I guess). I always knew when was a good time for me. I could have gotten into one in 7th grade but decided against it since the situation seemed too unpractical and bizarre. So, this song is about waiting 18 years (yes, I was 18 years old when I wrote this) and not regretting one bit of it.
